Cornarea farm is situated in a village called Canale, in the center of Roero, a little hilly area bordering on the Langhe, a region devoted to the wine since ancient times. Cornarea takes its name from the hill where its vineyards stretch, so called since the year 1,000: on the hilltop, the unmistakable shape of the small Cornarea castle dominates the winery's 37 acres. This is a family-run firm: Francesca Rapetti is the owner, and her husband Gianpiero Bovone and son Gian Nicola are the enologists. The other son, Pierfranco, is the sales manager.
