The 2019 Macán Rioja is a polished and profoundly structured 100% Tempranillo, sourced from mature vines in the limestone-rich hills of Rioja Alavesa. The 2019 vintage brought excellent growing conditions—balanced ripening, healthy yields, and ideal harvest weather—allowing for fruit of exceptional concentration and phenolic maturity. Fermentation took place in stainless steel and French oak vats, followed by 16–18 months of aging in mostly new and second-use French oak barrels, and further refinement in bottle before release. In the glass, the wine reveals a deep ruby hue and an aromatic profile of black cherry, red plum, violets, graphite, and subtle toast, with underlying notes of cedar, licorice, and crushed rock. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet impeccably balanced, with fine-grained tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish that reflects the calcareous terroir.
