The entire estate was initially designated for cereal and corn production, but in 1980, Francesco Calderone inherited the land that his grandfather had purchased in 1900 and established the Buceci estate. He proceeded to plant 150 hectares of both indigenous and international varietals. The Buceci estate is one of only a few in the world that grow vines at 1,000 meters above sea level. The grapes are grown organically without the addition of any products or chemicals.
