The 2023 Ca’ Marcanda Vistamare is a vibrant and aromatic Tuscan white blend of Vermentino and Viognier, occasionally complemented by small amounts of Fiano or other native varieties, depending on the vintage. The grapes are sourced from Ca’ Marcanda’s seaside-influenced vineyards, where the warm days and cooling breezes allow for full ripeness while preserving freshness. Fermented and aged partially in stainless steel and partially in used oak barrels, the wine balances texture with purity. In the glass, the 2023 Vistamare opens with bright, coastal aromas of white peach, lemon zest, apricot, jasmine, and a touch of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and silky, with crisp acidity, a saline core, and a refreshing, mineral-driven finish. The Viognier adds a subtle floral and stone-fruited richness, while the Vermentino provides lift and tension, making the wine both refreshing and gastronomically versatile.

Ca’ Marcanda is the Bolgheri estate of the iconic Gaja family, one of the most respected names in Italian wine. Founded in 1996 after years of negotiation to acquire the land—hence the name “Ca’ Marcanda”, or “house of endless negotiations”—the estate represents Gaja’s vision of merging Bordeaux varietals with Tuscan coastal terroir.
