The 2022 Auxey-Duresses from Leflaive & Associés is a fresh, finely detailed Chardonnay from one of the Côte de Beaune’s rising appellations, located just west of Meursault and known for its limestone-rich soils and cool microclimate. The 2022 vintage brought excellent ripeness and balance, and this wine captures that harmony with precision. Fermented and aged in a mix of stainless steel and used oak barrels, it offers bright aromatics of white peach, lemon zest, crushed shell, and wildflowers, with subtle hints of almond and wet stone. On the palate, it is taut and linear, with crisp acidity and a lovely mineral backbone that carries the citrus and orchard fruit through a long, clean finish. It’s a pure, focused expression of Auxey-Duresses that delivers exceptional value and refinement—a wine that reflects Leflaive’s hallmark restraint and elegance, approachable now but also capable of rewarding short- to mid-term cellaring.
