Yes, it is best with additional aging, but it is absolutely intoxicating and stunning today, and if there is an award for best bouquet in supporting role, this is a contender. Thanks to the warm vintage there is an inviting, smooth and elegant texture to the wine, almost Burgundian-like. On the nose, and palate, the flavor spectrum is well represented here and you can expect nuances of wild berries, red and black, violets, potpourri, pepper, cocoa, tapenade, smoked meat, baked earth, iron, and an awesome streak of salinity. There is a lot of wine here and I have to believe if Bartolo Mascarello was going to drink Côte-Rôtie, it might be the traditional wines of Rostaing. It is mind-bending juice and are wines that will make you rethink a region For IWM, and so many in the trad, the Ampodium is simply the best deal in Côte-Rôtie."
