Filled with red fruit aromas and elegant tannins, this wine is a fine expression of this up-and-coming appellation from the northern Rhône. This wine is produced from grapes from the two estates of Jean-Louis GRIPPAT and VALLOUIT as well from grapes and wines purchased in the trade. Nose : Powerful nose dominated by red berries and delicate oak aromas. Palate : Powerful attack. Round and supple tannins.
Founded in 1946 in the ancient village of Ampuis in the Cote-Rotie appellation, the Guigal estate has been around for a relatively short period of time, especially when you consider that the wines of the northern Rhone has been famous for 2,400 years. Guigal is equally proficient in Hermitage red and white, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph, and Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Helmed by Marcel Guigal, E. Guigal is one of the most impressive estates in the Rhone. During harvest, Guigal may have more than 15 professional teams picking at the same time in different vineyards, each carefully hand harvesting, allowing the estate to return to the vineyards three or four times to achieve optimal ripeness in each cluster.
