The 2015 Salvatore Molettieri Taurasi Vigna Cinque Querce is a profound and uncompromising expression of single-vineyard Aglianico, sourced from old vines in the estate’s most revered parcel. The Cinque Querce vineyard, with its cool altitude and clay-rich soils, produces fruit of exceptional structure and aromatic complexity. The 2015 vintage, marked by warmth and optimal harvest conditions, yielded wines of both generosity and underlying tension—a balance that suits Molettieri’s powerful, long-aging style. Salvatore Molettieri is one of the great traditionalists of Irpinia, based in Montemarano, a high-altitude subzone of the Taurasi DOCG known for producing the most powerful and long-lived expressions of Aglianico. The Molettieri family manages every aspect of production, farming organically and harvesting by hand. In the cellar, Salvatore remains firmly committed to classical winemaking: long macerations, aging in large Slavonian oak casks and older barriques, and delayed release s
