The 2021 Barbaresco Starderi is a bold, structured, and aromatically intense single-vineyard Nebbiolo from one of La Spinetta’s most iconic crus, located in the commune of Neive. The south-facing vineyard sits on calcareous soils at about 270 meters of elevation, producing grapes with exceptional ripeness and depth. The 2021 vintage brought a classic growing season with ideal diurnal shifts, resulting in a wine that combines clarity and richness. Aged for 20–22 months in French oak (20–30% new) and then further refined in bottle, the wine opens with complex aromas of black cherry, dried rose, crushed mint, licorice, and sweet spice. On the palate, it is full-bodied and velvety, with ripe tannins, vivid acidity, and layers of dark fruit, graphite, and subtle cocoa.
