A red wine that delights with its youthful exuberance and vibrancy. On the nose, it unfurls a panoply of scents with cherries and raspberries taking center stage, complemented by a subtle hint of spices. It’s seamless flow and soft tannins render it exceptionally approachable, striking a harmonious balance between its fruity demeanor and a revitalizing acidity.
A school teacher in the county of Costigliole d’Asti, Domenico Stella loved music, but he also loved making wine. In 1920, his passion became reality when he established the Azienda Agricola Stella and soon became a notable winemaker winning two awards in 1928-one from the National Food Expo and the other from an early Costigliole d’Asti County wine show. Today, the Stella winery produces some of Piemonte’s most delicately-structured wines. Still family-run, son Giuseppe and grandsons Massimo and Paolo run all the commercial and field operations of the estate and are committed to staying true to producing wines typical of Piemonte by using mostly indigenous varieties. Today, the estate consists of 30 acres planted with Barbera, Grignolino, Dolcetto, Cortese, Chardonnay, Freisa and Moscato.
