The 2017 Terlano Vorberg Pinot Bianco Riserva is a masterful, age-worthy expression of mountain-grown Pinot Bianco from steep, south- and southwest-facing slopes at 450–950 meters above sea level. Sourced exclusively from the Vorberg vineyard, one of the estate’s most prized sites, the wine is fermented in large oak barrels and aged on the lees for 12 months, enhancing texture and complexity without overt oak influence. The 2017 vintage, shaped by a warm and dry summer, delivers a rich yet tightly coiled profile. On the nose, it presents aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple, chamomile, white almond, and flint, with a faint hint of smoke and dried herbs. The palate is layered and structured, with a creamy mid-palate, vibrant acidity, and a long, mineral-driven finish. Cantina Terlano (Kellerei Terlan) is one of Italy’s most prestigious cooperative wineries and a benchmark for high-altitude white wines from Alto Adige (Südtirol). Founded in 1893 and located just outside Bolzano in the commune of Terlano, the winery has built its reputation on longevity, precision, and terroir expression—particularly through the cultivation of Pinot Bianco (Weißburgunder), Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay.
