A legendary cooperative of more than 100 wine growers located in Alto Adige's Dolomite Mountains, Cantina Terlan (sometimes spelled "Terlano") may get its name from the nearest town, but this wine producer contains multitudes. This mighty cooperative has more than 2,000 years of winemaking history on its side, as well as some extraordinary terroir, a combination that helps to explain the intensity, purity, and age-worthiness of Cantina Terlan's wines. Sheltered in a hollow of the Alps, Cantina Terlan's 300 acres boast south-facing vineyards that rise from 820-3,000 feet above sea level.
