From the historical winery Zárate of Rías Baixas going back to the 18th century. Zárate Fontecón Tinto is made with rare local grapes of 70% Espadeiro and 30% Caiño Tinto - a brilliant ruby red color, smells of watermelon, maraschino cherry, clementine, hard aged cheese, leather, and iodine. Medium body with high acidity and soft tannin, flavors of raspberry, cranberry, Bing cherry and dried orange peel, Finishes with mild Amontillado sherry notes.
