This 2012 Barbe Rac, sourced from 100 % old‑vine Grenache planted on garrigue‑laden galet soils, shows an intense garnet colour and delivers a nose of licorice, dark chocolate, herbs, and wild strawberry fruit. On the palate the wine is ample, fleshy and warm, with outstanding density, generous dark berry fruit, spice and an impressive length—built for both early pleasure and long‑term reward.
Founded in 1808 in Tain‑l’Hermitage, M. Chapoutier has become a benchmark for terroir‑driven winemaking across the Rhône Valley. Under Michel Chapoutier’s guidance, the estate embraces biodynamic viticulture, native‑yeast fermentations, and a minimalist cellar philosophy—allowing each vineyard parcel to express itself with clarity. Their “Sélection Parcellaire” series highlights individual plots of exceptional character, combining power, finesse and longevity.
