The 2022 Coche-Dury Bourgogne Blanc is a stunningly precise and layered expression of Chardonnay, offering a clear window into the domaine’s elite craftsmanship. Sourced from multiple parcels near Meursault, the wine is fermented and aged in oak barrels (a portion of which are older), undergoing bâtonnage and extended lees contact to build texture without losing vibrancy. The 2022 vintage delivered fruit of excellent concentration and purity, and the wine opens with a tightly knit bouquet of green apple, lemon curd, white flowers, almond skin, and Coche’s unmistakable reductive flint and struck match character. On the palate, it is tense, energetic, and finely etched, with electric acidity, a creamy mid-palate, and a long, mineral-laced finish. Though labeled as Bourgogne, it possesses the structure and depth of a much higher appellation, and with a few years of cellaring, will blossom into something truly remarkable. Best enjoyed from 2025 to 2032, and ideally paired wit

Coche-Dury Description

Coche-Dury is one of the most revered domaines in Burgundy, synonymous with rarity, precision, and almost mythical quality. Based in Meursault, the estate is currently led by Raphaël Coche, who continues the legacy of his father Jean-François Coche, widely considered one of the greatest white winemakers in the world. The domaine’s wines—especially its whites—are celebrated for their electric tension, extraordinary purity, and unmistakable reductive signature. Farming is meticulous and sustainable, with low yields and manual harvesting, and winemaking is rigorously traditional: barrel fermentation, long élevage, and frequent bâtonnage. While Coche-Dury is best known for its Meursault and Corton-Charlemagne, even its humblest appellations, like Bourgogne Aligoté, are treated with the same care and precision, offering a glimpse into the house’s exceptional craftsmanship.
