Christopher Deas, Italian Wine Merchants: "This is, once again, one of the most exciting white Burgundy values we have come across, and in the 2020 vintage, it is the Clos de la Crochette that even challenges the staple sibling Viré-Clessé bottling which showcases a little more weight and power. While the wines of Domaine Les Héritiers du Comte Lafon are simply a gift that challenge many northern Meursault Premier Crus at a fraction the price. This marks the ninth consecutive year I have felt this strongly on the wines of this estate. The signature nuances of crisp orchard fruits, Gala apples, pears, blooming citrus flowers, lime, and chalk are all here, but accompanied by a little more stone fruit, brown spice and texture.
