The 2022 Bruno Clair Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru La Dominode is a strikingly complete and characterful Pinot Noir, showing both the generous ripeness of the vintage and the textural seriousness that defines this particular premier cru. Harvested from low-yielding, old vines, the wine was vinified with partial whole-cluster fermentation, adding aromatic complexity and refined tannic structure. Élevage took place in French oak barrels (approximately 25% new), where the wine matured slowly and harmoniously. In the glass, it opens with a brooding yet elegant bouquet of dark cherry, wild raspberry, violets, black tea, and iron-rich earth, laced with hints of clove, smoked herbs, and crushed rock. The palate is medium-bodied yet deep, with firm, dusty tannins, energetic acidity, and a long, mineral-tinged finish that echoes with forest floor and savory spice. There’s both weight and lift here—a balance that bodes well for aging.
